 Assessment Policy & My Practicum

Discuss the connection between the Growing Success policy and your practice teaching block.

The Growing Success policy documents cover important information on and around the “assessment, evaluation, and reporting in Ontario schools”. The Growing Success document also contains information on students who may require more extensive accommodations and modifications to make learning equitable in the classroom I have my practicum in, like students with Special Education needs and for English Language Learners. During my practicum I will need to use the information I have learned in Growing Success to construct various types of assessment that suit the curriculum expectations, as well as evaluate those assessments according to the rubric I would have created for the assessment based on the content from Growing Success. My practicum teaching will be informed by my knowledge, understanding and beliefs about the Growing Success policy documents.
